In phase one, temporary parking would be built on the field that abuts Route 113 in front of the current high school building. The property behind the current high school, including the football field and baseball diamond, would be sectioned off by a construction fence as the new building is constructed on that land. As construction on the new building is completed, the parent pickup and drop off routes, and bus routes, to and from the middle and high schools would remain the same. Once the new building is finished, the current middle and high school buildings would be sectioned off by construction fences and demolished.
Groveland, Merrimac, and West Newbury residents would be asked to vote to approve the project at Town Meetings on April 29 and through a ballot vote on May 6.
